Lumps & Bumps Ultrasound in Canberra
Ultrasound is an excellent first-line way to look at a lump or bump just under the skin. It can help your doctor understand the size, location and nature of a superficial soft-tissue lump anywhere on the body.
Preparation: No preparation is required. Eat, drink and take medications as normal. Wear clothing that makes the area of concern easy to reach.
What to expect: Warm gel is applied over the lump and a small probe is moved across the area. The scan is painless and usually quick — around 15 minutes, depending on how many areas are examined.
Billing: We are a mixed-billing practice and will explain all costs, rebates and any out-of-pocket expense before your scan.
