Bulk Billing & Fees
Woden Ultrasound is a mixed-billing practice. That means some patients are bulk billed at no cost, while others pay a fee and receive a Medicare rebate.
Who we bulk bill
With a valid referral and Medicare card, we bulk bill all scans except Pelvic and Dating for:
Pensioner Concession Card holders
If you're in one of these groups, your eligible scan is billed directly to Medicare, so there's no out-of-pocket cost to you.
Everyone else
For all other patients, we charge a fee and you receive a Medicare rebate. We believe in transparent pricing, so before your scan we'll tell you the total cost, your Medicare rebate, and any out-of-pocket expense, which means no surprises. The exact fee depends on the type of scan you've been referred for, so please call our reception team for a quote.
What to bring
Your Medicare card (plus the child's Medicare details for paediatric scans)
Your referral — you can also upload it when booking, and we accept all referrals
Your Pensioner Concession Card, if applicable
Any previous relevant imaging or reports
Easy payment
We have a HICAPS terminal on site, so eftpos payment and your Medicare rebate can be processed on the spot. There is a surcharge of 1.5% for Amex and a 1% surcharge fee for all other transactions.
